Our in-house counsel primarily serve their client, Associated Industries and its subsidiaries, focusing on corporate matters, healthcare and benefits and industrial insurance. Our members gain as well from these lawyers’ experience in developing best practices designed to stop legal issues before they start. In areas such as workers' compensation, industrial safety and health, labor relations and collective bargaining and employment law our in-house counsel can provide consultation and training. Provided as a benefit of membership at Associated Industries or for a very reasonable fee, this preventive and informational approach includes:

• Legal updates and news
• Current posters and record keeping requirements
• Sample policies and practices
• Training and education for management, supervisors, and employees

Our in-house counsel may not serve as members’ own legal counsel and may not assert attorney-client privilege over any information communicated to them. Therefore, at any time members need to discuss sensitive legal matters, develop documents related to a specific legal issue or respond to any sort of inquiry, complaint or suit, they will be referred to private legal counsel. Because only lawyers may provide legal counsel, members should contact our in-house legal department or other competent legal counsel to discuss their response options, including referral to private legal counsel, at any time questions involve the rights of the employer, it employees, applicants or former employees.
