Your HEALTH Counts:
How to send your doc's info to your cell phone
A new feature has been added to myuhc.com –UnitedHealthcare's online health and wellness website – that I think
is cool.
It allows you to send your doctor's contact information to your cell phone (as long as it's text-enabled.) That could be handy in an emergency, or if you're away from home and need to reach your doctor for whatever reason.
For me, it works out great because I pretty much carry my brains in my cell phone, along with all my contact information and my calendar.
So let's say I'm running late and can't make a scheduled appointment. Easy-speasy! I have my doc's info right there on my phone. (Of course, I will use a hands-free devise and pull over to the side to place the call.)
So anyway, here's how you can get the number of your doctor(s) on your cell phone:
- First, go online to myuhc.com and complete a search for a doctor using the "Physicians & Facilities" or the "Find a Doctor" links.
- When the doctor's location and phone number information comes up on your screen, you'll see it includes a new link, "Send to My Phone."
Wasn't that easy? Well, if you're not sure, more detailed instructions are available online. Just click here for step-by-step directions.
P.S.If your employer is not one of hundreds of member companies – representing thousands of employees and their families – that contract with Associated Employers Trust (AET) to provide their employees with quality healthcare and disability program, and the "Your HEALTH Counts!" wellness program, maybe it's time to ask if you can find out more about this excellent program.
